Spring Scarfs and new yarn

Micheals has a new yarn that is only 1.99 yahoo and you know what its a 4 weight its soft and comes in tons of colours. (Just wish they could keep them all stocked).
So Elk studios released a video and a new pattern using the yarn and i have started it. Actually I am half done it now. Its called the love me more scarf. Sometimes I find scarfs boring to crochet but this one called to me and I am enjoying it.

You can find the link to the pattern and she has a link to her video on her page too HERE.

Enjoy I will post a picture of my scarf later on

March 2017 - Happy Haunts

I almost forgot to post this month's progress. I left off here last month: Haunts011
And made it a bit farther to here: Haunts013
Hopefully next month will be better!

The above is where I left off in February and below is my stitching for this month. Pitiful.
But, this blog makes me stitch a little each month instead of letting it sit in the basement. I may finish this before I hit 100!

Winnie the Pooh March Progress

Hello friends!  I restarted Winnie the Pooh II using a Candamar-DMC conversion.  The colors, and the coverage, are much better with the DMC.  I began at upper left, worked the first column down to the midline of the chart, feathering into the next column.  I also got a start on the 2nd column. This is tree, sky, and a bit of tree trunk.

I'm so happy with the look and I'm really enjoying the chart.  It has lots of color changes, but it's not confetti.   However, there is a problem: I spaced it wrong.  Now I don't have enough room at the bottom, I'll have to crop the last row.  That's not a huge deal and I'm not sure it's worth re-starting yet again.  I did sew some extra to the bottom to allow for scrolling and framing.  Any thoughts- should I crop or start over?

ETA: I did more counting and measuring.  The kit says 12" high.  The way I placed it, is for 12".  However, my gridding comes out larger, about 14".  The fabric, supposedly 28 count evenweave, is not!  It's 28 across, but only 24 down.  I am quite cheesed off!

I Caught Up!

hi everyone!  I know I'm a few days late but I'm happy to report I caught up with my SAL.  I haven't started this month yet but I was making progress with my other progress and wanted to finish a section before I posted.  So last post I had only finished part of January:
But now I've finished January and February:
March is a pretty blue but I might make some changes to the eye.  See you next month!

February 2017 - Happy Haunts

I left off here last month: Haunts006

And my heart really wasn't into this project this month because I only made it to here:

Better luck next month maybe!

Renee's Fractal White Tiger February 2017 Update

Late this evening, I put an hour and fifteen minutes in to this piece just so I would have progress to share. I have been itching to work on it, but other projects have demanded my small amount of crafty time this month.

Anyway... I did manage to add 175 stitches in that time, filling in around the eye a bit.

This is how it looked last month. I do hope to have more progress to share in my March update.

The pattern is Fractal White Tiger and it is artwork by Ricky Barnard charted by Charting Creations. Watching it come together is a joy.

I hope you are all able to find plenty of stitching time in March.

Reptiles for February

I have not made much progress. I think I have done 100 stitches, but maybe not.
I never really introduced myself. I am Beth and I live in Illinois. I normally stitch needlepoint or Mill Hill bead kits, but I love this HAED and had to do it. I also have a son who had a bearded dragon. When I get it finished,it will belong to him.

Winnie the Pooh 2017 Intro

Hello everyone!  I got a late and rather inauspicious start on Winnie the Pooh II by MCG textiles.  So, I began in the upper left corner and immediately noticed the kit floss provided did not really match their descriptions (med green instead of dark green).  I decided to trust the pattern and begin.  I noticed the floss seemed thinner than DMC.  After stitching some, I was not happy with the coverage, nor the colors.  I looked up an online conversion and pulled the two dark green DMCs, which looked nothing like the kit floss.
They did look a lot more like the picture!
I wonder if they stitched the model in DMC then kitted it up with some off brand cheap floss.  I frogged it all.  I will restart it with DMC.  Using my own thread I can do 3 over 2 for the darker colors if I feel it needs more coverage.  The kit fabric is 28 ct evenweave, the quality is ok and I prefer 28 count since this pattern has over 1 sections.

Hopefully next month I'll have something good to share!

Not Much to See Here

Hi guys I'm back!  A little late but meh that's okay.  I got caught up this month trying to finish the HAED challenge so I didn't get to work much on Birthstone Dragons but here it is so far:

I'm doing the border as I go so hopefully soon I'll be caught up.  See you all next (this) month!

January 2017 - Happy Haunts

I started my new project and managed a bit of work, but not a full page. I used a cheap piece of 18ct Aida, so it scrolled up a bit crooked, but it shouldn't matter in the end: Haunts006

Mini's January update

Hello Friends,

Its time for a monthly update. I'm very happy with my progress on this project , I think I have completed 15% of the total stitches. I worked on the top left corner of the pattern.

I have fallen in love with this project and its hard to put it down. However it's time to pick my second WIP for Focus Finish February as part of  Theme-tas-stitch 2017 SAL. Don't know what I'm talking about , head over to Kerry's blog for details .

When I started this project , I had few apprehensions after reading about stitcher's trouble with kits- how the floss is bad, how they ran out of floss, the aida is of poor quality.

So far I don't have any complaints with this Dimensions kit, being a newbie stitcher with limited stash it helps when the fabric and floss is provided  . I may be weird but I like working on stiff aida as it helps to keep my stitches neat.I'm also enjoying working with first time with blended threads and variety of half stitches and how fast the half crosses stitch.

Will see you in March when I will pick this piece again for stitching.

Have a great February.

Not a lot of progress this month, but every stitch is a stitch forward.

Renee's Fractal White Tiger January 2017 Update

This month, I added over 1,900 stitches to my Charting Creations Fractal White Tiger based on artwork by Ricky Barnard.

As I moved down to page 6, I really did try to work the page row-by-row, but I was entirely too impatient. The eye was just too close and I've been itching to stitch it for ages.

This is 50 days of actual stitching.

This is how it looked at the beginning of the month.

(I have had the song "The Eye of the Tiger" stuck in my head for days...)

I have to say, I am very excited to see updates of everyone else's work this year. I love all of your charts. (Elaine, I am working on a piece by Ching-Chou Kuik, too. I love her work. You chose one of my favorites.)

Wishing you all a very stitchy month.
